Niall Horan and his One Direction band boys Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson are almost as famous for the girls in their lives (or those teeny-bopper fans who want to be their girlfriends!) as for their heart-throb looks and their peppy pop-star sounds. Styles, of course, is already renowned for being the Lothario of the group with his romantic exploits that range from cougar love affairs to supposed trysts with PYTs like model Cara Delevingne. Payne, Tomlinson and Malik have their romances with Danielle Peazer, Eleanor Calder and Perrie Edwards, respectively, and Horan has his rumored "friendship" going on with Demi Lovato. And they all have the attention of shrieking and squealing female Directioners.
So with so much girl action, it would really come as no big shocker if the title of their highly anticipated new album, Take Me Home, had an underlying romantic connotation; a double entendre of sorts, as in a couple going home together.
But Niall Horan has set the record straight, and his rationale behind the name is far less suggestive in nature, although it is pretty sweet. For their first album, One Direction may have been Up All Night, but for their sophomore effort, it's all about reconnecting with their roots for Horan, Styles, Malik, Tomlinson and Payne. "We thought about it for a while," Horan said, as Entertainmentwise reports. "Because we all would do a lot of traveling around the world and we get to see a lot of cool places, but the main thing is there's no place like home. It's always kind of nice to go home."
Looks like the boys are channeling their inner Dorothy and figuratively clicking their red sparkly shoes together, chanting, "There's no place like home."
But 1D's focus on the perks of sometimes being homebodies won't make Take Me Home, which comes out Nov. 12, any less powerful than their first chart-topping album. Horan revealed they're "really excited about it... it's really fun, very heavy on guitars and drums." Sounds like another "home" run is in store for this popular group!
