Sage Stallone, son of actor Sylvester Stallone, didn't die of a drug overdose as earlier reported. In fact there were no drugs at all in the 36-year-old's system. He died of a heart attack instead.
According to a report from TMZ, Sage had a heart attack at such a young age because he had advanced coronary problems. A source says it was "unusual" to see such advanced heart disease in such a young person.
Sage was found dead on July 13 in his bedroom at his home, but the autopsy indicates he may have been dead for several days before his body was found. Initial reports speculated he likely died of a drug overdose. Some reports even painted him as a drug dealer.
As difficult as Sage's death likely still is on Sylvester Stallone, as well as Sage's mother and other family members--they hopefully are finding some solace knowing he died of natural causes.
Sage Stallone's death is followed by the death of his aunt--Sylvester Stallone's half sister. She died of lung cancer earlier this week, doubling the tragedy the actor has faced this summer alone.
Are you surprised to learn Sage didn't die of a drug overdose?
