The 50 Shades of Grey movie favorite for the role of Christian Grey has switched from Ryan Gosling to Henry Cavill, according to a recent report. But what about Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer?
Fans of these actors needn't despair too much since it's just the opinion of PolicyMic that Ryan Gosling was the top choice to play Christian and that Man of Steel star Henry has stepped in to take his place. For all anyone knows, filmmakers' favorites might be complete different - they could be looking at Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer, or maybe they're hoping to score Chris Hemsworth or Taylor Kitsch. It's just way too early to tell.
However, Henry Cavill's look in a Dunhill fragrance ad has some 50 Shades of Grey fans wondering if E. L. James might have had Henry in mind while writing her original Twilight fanfic - the ad came out at the right time, and it even features a helicopter (Charlie Tango!). And now because Ryan Gosling will be busy working with busty babe Christina Hendricks on How to Catch a Monster, a movie that he wrote and will be directing, PolicyMic believes that Henry has a very good shot at winning the role of Christian Grey.
Henry will also be a hot property in Hollywood since he's been cast as the new Superman, and he's already a very popular subject of fan-made 50 Shades movie trailers, with most of them using footage from two of his Dunhill ads. In the first ad featuring the helicopter, he shows that his eyes are definitely intense enough to be Christian's, and there's an air of mystery about his well-dressed character. In a second ad he stands by an expensive-looking car and makes out with a beautiful brunette that works as stand-in for Anastasia Steele.
But who would his Anastasia Steele be? One fan thinks that Emily Browning would be perfect for the role, and this makes sense since she and Henry were Stephenie Meyer's first picks for the Twilight movie. Miss Phoenix's fan-made trailer below features clips from Henry's Dunhill ads; shots of Emily Browning from her sex-filled flick Sleeping Beauty; and scenes from the 30 Seconds to Mars music video for "Hurricane." So do you think that Henry and Emily would make the perfect Christian and Ana?
