Blue Moon this Friday!

A blue moon will fascinate sky watchers this Friday, August 31. I love a full moon, and this moon will be the third moon in the month.

According to Fox News, "This week's blue moon will be the last one visible until July 2015, Slooh officials said. Interestingly enough, the term "blue moon" does not refer to the moon's color, but rather has to do with it being the second of two full moons within the same calendar month."

I will go out in my yard this Friday and enjoy the Blue Moon as we will not have one again until 2015. It is a hobby of mine and my son's. He has a large telescope, and I remember the first time he brought it over. He showed me the rings of Saturn, and since then I have been fascinated with sky watching.

So if interested, be sure to look up because we won't have another blue moon for three years.

I'm not sure but if it is the third full moon of the month (has to be on the 31st) it is called a very blue moon.

Yeah, they only come every 28 days, there is no way it can be the third in one month.

I believe if it is the third full moon of the month it is called a very blue moon.

Different meanings. It can be either the second full moon in one month or the third full moon in a quarter.

I am excited hubby and I are going camping on friday, and saturday hopefully the weather allows us to see it

It can only happen every 28 days. It is the SECOND full moon of the long month of August...
