I will give this case the utmost priority in the coming days and my years of experience with similar cases will no doubt add to your attempts to understand this heinous and vicious act of violence.
UPDATE: The first suspect was a "trusted family friend" who has purportedly now admitted to the crime. One of his friends, who helped hide the body after the fact, ratted him out and led police to the discovery. Motive: Unclear at this time. I suspect that it was sexual in nature. That's typical in these cases. She was either causing a big fuss and he had to silence her (by strangulation) or she threatened to tell on him and he had to shut her up. Either way, she's gone. He's in custody and so is the friend who helped remove the evidence. So very sad...
I am very familiar with the area where this occurred. I just drove through there last week. It is decidedly urban blight. Just blocks from the Falls itself. Many houses are unkempt, unlivable and it would be a very scary place to be after dark. Don't misunderstand. There are still caring homeowners left and some businesses but they are hugely outnumbered by the decaying ones.
UPDATE: Wednesday Morning-8/29
As you might suspect, the airwaves and papers are filled with info on the death of young Isabella Tennant from Niagara Falls. Many are calling for the lifelong imprisonment of both perps. Some are calling for the death penalty even though NY does not currently have one. Rare, but I did post their pics in her caseline this morning.
I am going to the crime scene tomorrow and Friday and will take some pics of the area and share them on justiceforchildren.freeforums.org
Despite the fact that there were no "visible signs of sexual attack" and that her body was fully clothed when found, it does not mean that there was no sexual component to this crime. There are many acts that don't leave evidence of that nature.
Both suspects said, "Not Guilty" at their arraignment yesterday morning in NF City Court. This is not surprising, despite the alleged confession of the killer and his accomplice. Without this plea there would be no trial. Without a trial there would be no chance of acquittal. On what? Defense lawyers can be very creative. Just ask Jose Baez (defense attorney for Casey Anthony).
Still not too late for a plea deal but don't expect the Prosecution to even offer one in this case. Stay tuned for updates as this case progresses.
