Daily Question 8/27/12

Yesterday, during the errand-running, we weren't going to stop for lunch, just ice cream but we ended up at Pizza Mia, not our usual pizza joint but it was near where we were going so we stopped in. I ordered a slice of Sicilian, Steve had a Stromboli and Trevor had a slice with chicken and broccoli (I didn't even have to bother him to eat a veg). It was all pretty good, not great.

As I was eating the pizza, my daily question for today came to me - what is your favorite pizza topping? if any?

Normally I like it plain BUT it all depends on the pizza place we go to. If it is a pizza place that I don't know, I will eat something plain. If it is DeCola's, then I go with either the sausage (they grind up the sausage) or their Buffalo Chicken Pizza. If it is Federici's in Freehold than I go with plain as their pizza is the ultimate IMHO. The best in NJ. Anyway, so I normally go plain but sometimes I am hungry for a change. If I am than it is Buffalo Chicken or Pepperoni or Sausage.

I do admit to eating some strange toppings in the past - Ranch Chicken for one. DeCola's also makes a great pizza with Ranch Chicken on it. Got to be in the mood.

So what is your favorite topping?

I go for lots of toppings. All meat plus mushrooms and extra sauce.

I like lots of veggie toppings-peppers, tomatos, olives, onions, mushrooms etc.

I also love veggies on pizza just not as much as plain.

I love sausage on my pie but it has to be ground up, not sliced.

I tried pineapple once and did not like it. I am more of a purist. I guess it is from my upbringing in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. In the 1970's they never even sold pizza with any toppings. Just plain.

That is good. Sometimes that is what I am in the mood for but I prefer plain or Buffalo Chicken.

I love the 'Works', from Papa Johns! I love most of the toppings on pizza, but if I only have one, it's pepperoni!

Never had Papa John's! One time we almost went into one but they said there was a wait and we weren't in the mood so we left and went somewhere else. Prefer NON-franchised pizza though.

Papa John's around here are all carryout or delivery only. They are a franchise, but their pizzas are really good and they send garlic butter sauce for dipping the outer crust. Sometimes we make our own pizza and my husband love my french bread pizza!

Meat lovers here so Give me pepperoni, Italian sausage, Canadian bacon and ham with the veggies.hold the black olives and please....extra sauce.
Darnit! I almost forgot the red peppers flakes! Now somebody say grace so we can eat^_^

The only meat combo I ever liked was sausage, bacon and pepperoni on one pie. One time at a birthday party, they ordered one pie like that and I loved it. Never ordered it that way though. Meat is so good on pizza. And I agree - always with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes!
