True Blood season 5 ended with a big cliffhanger, as teased. Bill drank Lilith's blood after tricking Salome, and after appearing to die, he rose from his own blood much like Lilith had in the past. Meanwhile, there was a new couple, another possible death, and more. So where does the HBO drama go from there?
Season 6 Spoilers
Alan Ball talked to TVLine about what happened and what's next, and one of the big questions is what's going on with Bill. All Ball said was that Bill "is still Bill but he is something different," calling him "a transformed Bill." Bill had gone quite crazy as season 5 progressed, and it all led up to that ending. With everything that has happened, will Bill ever return to how he was? That's something to be addressed coming up, but Ball did say, "He is more ferocious." Is that pretty much it for any hope of reconciliation for Bill and Sookie? That was a pretty harsh conversation at the end of the finale, and it still has yet to be seen just what Bill's going to be doing in this new "transformed" form. What will happen when he catches up to Eric and Sookie? Will they be able to talk him down, or will he leave bodies in his wake?
Then there's the matter of Luna. She hadn't been doing well earlier on in the season, and now that could have been it. Will she die in her attempt to rescue her daughter? Ball pointed out "we didn't see her die" and said "You'll have to watch" True Blood season 6. One thing is for certain. Luna is not looking good. Even if she does survive, it doesn't look like this is going to be something she can recover from so quickly. Will Sam be able to get Luna and Emma out of there so Luna can get the help she needs before it's too late, or will the season 6 premiere see Luna join the dead?
The season 5 finale also saw Tara open a silver door to free Pam even though she could've just waited the extra few seconds for Sookie to do it, and then while the two vampires kissed, Jessica chimed in with "I knew it." She had brought it up to Tara, but just because they kissed doesn't mean things are going to be easy. What else would you expect from this show? While Ball isn't going to be the boss next season (that's going to be Mark Hudis), he did tease, "Once [relationships on this show] happen then you have to throw a monkey-wrench into them, because to have people be happy is not that exciting," and said it's his "understanding" that they'll be exploring that more in season 6. It wasn't too surprising that the show went there, and it could be very interesting to see everyone's reactions to this new relationship, however it lasts and whatever happens there.
Finally, there's the matter of Warlow, the vampire who killed Sookie and Jason's parents. While it seemed like Warlow could be part of the end of the season in some way, he wasn't...or was he? It's still uncertain if Warlow is a vampire that has already been seen on the show, and when asked just that, Ball said "No comment," which makes it seem very possible that one of the vampires fans already know could be the one who killed Sookie and Jason's parents. Alan Ball does "think he'll be kind of a big part of it." Will Warlow leave someone else dead from the Stackhouse family? Jason's on his anti-vampire kick; could that come back to haunt him when it comes to Warlow? Jason may be ready to kill any vampires coming his way, but will he fail when it comes to facing Warlow? With Sookie's power fading, someone may need to talk Jason down before he does something that ends badly.
