While Sunday is often one of my least busy days of the week, today was a big exception. I didn't sleep well last night. My sinuses started acting up and throughout the night I kept waking up with a stuffy nose and sore throat. Since I'm pregnant, there's very little I can take in the way of medicine. When I got up this morning, I knew I wasn't going to accomplish a whole lot today. But for a while I pushed my way through a short trip to the grocery store for some things we needed, and in hopes of finding some over the counter medicine that is on my doctor's list of things I am allowed to take. No luck, there, though. Ever since they passed the law restricting purchases of OTC cold meds, all the "plain" ones that are safe for pregnancy are also the ones that the crystal meth dealers can use to make their own drugs from home. And of course no local pharmacies were open that early in the morning. Frustrating! I settled for some cough drops, which did help a little.
Came home and did a little bit around the house, but my pace was very slow and I felt pretty tired and miserable. Also was feeling a bit down because my aunt's viewing is today. I'm not able to be there as it's several states away. I was able to take a Benadryl and got a 3 hour nap, which helped me feel a bit better. A bowl of soup and a few glasses of water later, and I was feeling a lot more like myself again. Feeling more ready to deal with tomorrow, when all of the kids go back to school, including my little one!
Please say a prayer for my husband. He works as an independent contractor and tomorrow all the corporate folks are going to be visiting the stores he services and making evaluations of his work. He is feeling very nervous about it, although just the other day one of those execs went through one of his stores and raved about how everything looked. I know he'll do a great job, but he was definitely feeling tense about it today.
Also please say a prayer that my employer, who hired me part time last Spring, will have some hours for me in these last six weeks before the baby arrives, and then again after I heal from the birth. Summer is always the slow season where we live, and things pick up again a month or two into the Fall. We really could use the extra income and no one else is going to hire a lady who is due to deliver a baby in 6 weeks! :)
Hope everyone else had a nice day and has a good start to the upcoming week.
