I have never had 'good credit' It's hard for me to get credit in the first place because no one will ever cosign for me. My mom wouldn't when I found a car I had half the money for and would have needed to make payments for the other half. She said that she was afraid I wouldn't make the payments and she'd have to make them. Then I asked my Granny who is really well off and she said Jesus wouldn't want her to! Haha. So, anyhow, I have to just just slowly build it up by paying my bills as I can.
I didn't think my credit was all that bad really when a high score is 850 and a low one is 200 or so. Mine was 550 for years but everyone was saying that was so bad of a score. Seems midrange to me! But, I've been paying my bills as I get them because I'll need a higher score when my boyfriend and I try to buy a house.
I logged on today and my score was 580... so I'm pleased with that. I think it went up because I just got my car insurance on a bill system instead of paying it all at once like I usually do. So, I'm going to stay on top of my car insurance bill and hope that this raises my score some more. But, I'm not going to try to get a credit card or have any checks of that sort until I go to buy a house because I don't need it to slide back down on me!

Hope you find a house you like soon! :o)
I've found a house I like, but my boyfriend wants me to wait for him to get it and he is not ready to move just yet. That's okay, it gives me more time to build up my credit.
Maybe you should go ahead and get it in your name and if you decide you like the house but not the boyfriend you can keep the house and chase away the boyfriend! *lol*
But it's much easier to pay for a home with another paycheck coming in, so I hope the house you like waits for you and he to be ready for it. ;o)
I haven't run my score in years, so have no idea where I stand.
