Happy TGIF and welcome to Norma’s Café. I am still having computer issues and I can’t wait til I can get my new one. No definite word on that yet. It is a beautiful day here in my corner of Iowa. The recent rain has greened things up and yes, our lawn had to be mowed yesterday. It looks so nice to see it green again. The temps are to be in the 70s for a few days and low 50s and maybe 40s at night.. There is a feeling of fall in the air. What is it like where you are?
I am walking at the mall this morning with my GF and then we are going out for lunch. She gave me some fresh tomatoes a couple of days ago and they are so good, nothing like the hard tasteless things in the store. I have been enjoying bacon and tomato sandwiches, no lettuce. I can’t seem to use a head of lettuce up as they turn brown so quickly. There are no movies we want to see so we will just eat lunch and go home.
I had a long day yesterday beginning with storms at 4:45 in the morning and I couldn’t go back to sleep.
My daughter picked me up at 9:30 and drove me to Cedar Rapids. We went out to eat and I had to be at the eye clinic at 12:45, I went through tests on 6 different machines and exams by an optomology tech and the eye surgeon. My eyes were so dilated that everything was a blur for a couple of hours. My pressures were down some but the surgeon wants me back in 4 weeks to make sure they are staying down. I will have to go two days in a row, the first to see a retina specialist and the second to see the surgeon. It sounds like I will be having the cataracts removed but not for a couple of months. The want to make sure everything about my eyes is okay before that takes place. I will probably go to my daughter’s for the first day and stay overnight for the second day as I will be dilated both times and can’t drive.
I hope and pray that Norma is doing well in the skilled nursing facility. They are not able to give her IV antibiotics there so must do crushed pills in liquid. She was in the hospital such a short time I worry that they weren’t able to get her kidney infection under control. Tracy said she has to keep a close watch on them as she suspects they don’t pay the attention they should to her mother.. Let’s keep our prayers going for Norma to be free from pain and at peace. Donald and Tracy need our prayers too as they are under so much stress.
Coffee is ready and hot tea. The fridge is stocked with cold drinks. As cool as it is this morning hot chocolate would taste good and I will make some if anyone wants it. Come on is and sit a spell. What are you up to today? Any plans for the weekend? Don’t forget a message for Norma. What can I get you to drink?

My 9 and 3 year old grandsons got to watch hibachi chefs prepare our dinner last night for the first time--they were fascinated.
It's a beautiful morning.
My son in the nursing home had cataract surgery and he said it was a breeze.
Always prayers for Norma and family.
It will be awhile before they are satisfied that there are no other problems and can do the surgery.
It finally rained here yesterday! After months of a drought. It went from the 100s to low 90s. It got down to 66 degrees one night. Great weather.
Our weather is about the same as yours. Looks like rain today (Sun.)
I hope all goes well with your eye surgery.
