Iowa cousins Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins remain missing, while school in the area is back in session. What does this mean for all of the other students? Not much, considering several hundred thousand children go missing every year in the U.S., and these two girls may not ever be found at the rate at which the FBI is working. While it's unfortunate that the young girls have been missing an entire month with no sign of the end in sight, the schools in the area are taking proper measures to help students cope.
It's reported that area students "are remembering the absent girls" in their classrooms, and that's a shame. To be a young child and be aware that one of your peers has been kidnapped or worse must be something hard to understand. That's why the schools in the area, in particular the schools attended by the missing Iowa girls, are offering counseling for the students.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the girls' disappearance appears to be a standstill—if not, the details certainly aren't making it back to the media or public. Even family members have acknowledged that they know about as much as the public knows about their missing loved ones.
