Genre Shorties Prompt -- Week 120
I feel silly. Oh so silly.
Write me a Shortie without using the vowel "e" ... just to prove you can.
Topic ideas? How about... 100 words on what you found in your junk drawer, OR what you had for lunch, OR how much you love Gather?
=======================
Your story may be serious or lighthearted or as silly as you like so long as it is 100 or fewer words.
Post your stories to Genre Shorties.
Please read other folks' entries!

I'VE BEEN DOWN WITH A BAD VIRUS AND THIS IS MY FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO ANSWER LAST WEEKS CHALLENGE/PROMPT
MOMMA’S GIFT, A JUNK DRAW3R
© 2012 by David Wainland
100 words
Mom said it was for my stuff
I could own a bit of privacy
Nobody would look in
I don’t think anybody did
At first it was toys
Yo-yo’s, tops, sports cards
And soon it was books
With worn bindings
Photos I could not show
My first prophylactic
Playing cards
Coins for pitching
A push button sword
And a zip-gun
My contract
For our military
Forty months
And I was back
Nobody would look
‘twas mom’s word
I dump all my junk
Put in my pay
A gift for mom
An oath to fulfill
Nobody would look
Nobody did
Trust

I like the story.
That was a pretty cool way to illustrate some of the important points in your life.
The 'ees' are sly little devils creeping in unawares ~:)
Personally, I think this poem had a lot of depth and meaning than most short prompt poetry...
I think you wrote incredibly well, considering the dearth of words you had to work with...

As for your virus-- right there with ya, buddy. Full sympathy.
I had a tackle type box with a lock.
One thing I kept in there was something that made me feel silly.
That was many, many moons ago.
