According to the latest entertainment news, JUSTIN BIEBER is slated to act in MARK WAHLBERG‘s new basketball movie.

Justin is not just the biggest pop star in the world… he is the most followed male on Twitter, he has his own fragrance, is releasing his second book soon and now he plans on becoming a movie superstar!

But not with the help of his actor pal, Mark Wahberg.

Wahlberg, who previously hinted that he would like to work with the 18-year-old “Boyfriend” singer for a new movie, has revealed that the flick is now in the works.

He told E! Online:

“We got a first draft. They did an edit on the script and got to make some changes and do a little bit of rewrite and polish but I’ve been in contact with [Justin's] managers and the studio a lot. We just want to make it great and we’re getting there.”

So what will Justin‘s part be in the upcoming flick? Why the lead of course—as a basketball player!

Wahlberg dished:

“I think of Paul Newman and Tom Cruise in ‘The Color of Money’ but in the world of inner city basketball.”

He spoke of the aspiring young actor:

“I just think personally we have a great idea. [Justin]‘s a great athlete…he’s focused and he wants to have success in the movie world and acting as well. He’s focused and patient about finding the right particular part, working with the right people and I think he’d do a great job. I think we have good chemistry and like I said he’s right for this particular part and it’s an idea we’ve had for a while.”
