That would improve the economy which is not what Republicans want. Wait until Romney is in, then ... Well, then they will stop spending on the poor and things will get worse but take heart, we will be given scapegoats. (Obama, liberals, minorities, and the gay agenda.)

Bad idea. I have cut back on clothing, etc...because of the economy and I don't care to subsidize someone elses consumerism-uptick when I've had to cut back on my own.

I quit buying eggs, veggies, chicken, beef, and more since I've situated myself to provide my own to save me some of my hard-earned paycheck. I've had to cut back on what I would normally provide my own children and grandkids via Xmas, birthdays, etc...due to the economic situation, and my kids have had to make big life adjustments to make it through, also so "NO" I think subsidizing someone else who is already benefiting from $$$ forcibly taken from hard-working, and struggling people is a very bad idea.

Let the people keep more of their own money to do with as they see fit (be that donating to charitable orgnizations, or consuming products, and the economy with move accordingly. Take more of my money, and I and my consuming will tighten-up even more so.

You’re not wealthy I take it. I actually know a few that are wealthy and each of those folk care about the people that are not so financially well off. They also care a great deal about consumerism, as that is what is hurting the economy these days, and all of those wealthy folk that I do know and deal with would prefer that those that are less well of be given a wee bit to live on, which would improve the consumerism in the USA, even tho the job market is not good at all.

One of those wealthy just said that he just clips coupons to live on and eats out for breakfast as well as dinner every day, and just fools around and travels a lot. Therefore he actually does almost nothing other than spend his money. He said I see no reason economically why the poor don’t have a benefit that would improve the economy like that.

I understand the point, and the poor DO benefit on what is given them and indeed many of them are, "given" more than I get employed full time, monthly income. I have to work the holidays to make ends meet, and I'm present to see who is getting to enjoy that holiday via the taxpayers dime. I see so many of them benefitting by fun picnics, and family gatherings at the river, when the working people have a strict budget to live under and have to sacrifice time with their families, rest and relaxation at a picnic by the river, PLUS pay the picnic by the river for others (who have all the time in the world).

It IS a way to move the economy, some, but it's a lousy way, and a lot of hard working people are starting to get pissed, since the economy is being moved via theft from the workers paychecks, instead of the workers themselves getting to keep the fruits of their labor and doing some moving of the economy themselves.

No, not a lot of cash flow through these hands, but I own my property outright, own my vehicles outright, and own my herd of goats outright, and my large flock of chickens outright. A lot of hardwork and planning went into achieving that, along with a lot of doing without other "things", too.

I plant my own garden for veggies and with little datlight left for the task I enjoy and appreciate it's bounty. I think those benefitting off the $$$ of others have a lot more time to be gardening than I do, but they don't even consider it.

Yes, as you are yourself and doing what you want, and very well I might say. Times are indeed bad for many and what you are doing in my opinion is excellent.

Also what I'm saying is indeed a shitty way to improve the consumerism, and the wealthy do care about the folks here in this country, but for their own sake, to improve the economy needs to be done, and that’s about that.

I recently watched a video about a project a wealthy one time basketball star has started. I think the project is called something like, "Growing Power". You might google it. I think that's a very good way to help people. I'm thinking about donating funds I manage to put aside to help this project grow. The project teaches people to not just grow gardens, but also how to grow healthy soil. The projects help to build community, skills, and euntrapenurism (sp). Teaches all about healthy food, etc...

It's a great idea.
