...The State Attorney’s Office prosecuting Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Trevor Martin, mistakenly released a trove of evidence on Thursday that included a grainy photo of Martin’s body and Zimmerman’s college transcript.
Not long after Special Prosecutor Angela Corey's office sent an email to media outlets with the evidence attached, the office issued a statement asking reporters to "please disregard and do not use the information contained in the initial e-mail. It was inadvertently attached."
...As I understand it, the legal terms, "Poisoning the well" of potential jurors, means that any "evidence" allowed to go out into the public area, before a trial starts, can not be used in the trial.
...As an example, if a suspect wrote out the complete way that they murdered someone, every little thing. then went and plead not guilty, then, with the posting of that document removes it from the prosecutor's hands, and may have poisoned the well of potential jurors, which would allow the guilty walk free.
