A trick to prevent losing that post..............

I was furious, I'd been working on that post...about wolves as usual...for a long time, finding links so you'd see I wasn't pulling anything from outer space etc, then when I was done I checked all my groups and tried to post....IT DID NOT WORK, GRRRRRRR....

Well, as I watched that round bubble going through its motions I figured for the fun of it to hit the save as draft button, HA, low and behold it worked, my time was recovered. WOO HOO. Well, I'm sure that won't always work on gather, but if you get that bubble and its still doing its thing try clicking the save as draft, it might just work.

I type my stuff in a word processor and save it there so I can copy/paste it on Gather. Then if it gets lost somewhere in the Gather's ether world, I can simply paste it again. Nothing lost but a couple of minutes,

I've even got into the habit of copying my comments too. Especially if they are very long. It's frustrating when they just vanish.

I've learned to hit that "save as draft" button every few minutes when writing a post, LOL. Even then I have lost a couple of posts... seems to happen every time I don't rough it out in Word, or copy it to that before hitting publish; like Murphy's Law comes into play.

LOL, yeah, I always lose my post when I get in a hurry and skip that step.
I copy my comments if they are long.

I save as a draft for longer posts. That has helped alot saving some of my photos essays and such.

It works well with essays, but so far I have had no luck gettin pics to copy from word.

My two posts this morning are not in any groups. I tried choosing groups but they disappeared from the left side without appearing on the right. I usually copy a long post, too, just in case I lose it.

Well, today has been better, but I'm starting to notice that its worse on the weekends, I guess more people are on since they probably get weekends off.

Thanks Phill, but I usually use either word or xcel when I write, trouble is sometimes I'm too lazy or get in a hurry. Just figured I'd post this cuz I recovered my post this morning after it disappeared by clicking on submit as draft.

Oh yes, I hear ya. I don't post as much as a lot of other Gatherers, but I hate losing one when I do.

I have had that save button fail many times, I always copy and paste my articles to another article page before I hit any button

Usually I do too, just that this morning I read about some idiots that want to kill a momma wolf and her cubs just because she supposedly killed a cow, that really doesn't make any sense, a cow can kill a lone wolf unless she is sick.

LOL, yeah I got pretty ticked off the first few times that happened to me. I don't post a lot of stuff because of that. I usually comment and reply, but even then I gather hics at me.
