I went to the State Fair today and had a really nice time. It rained all today and was downright cold but it was fine! I'm not complaining about it at all! All that rain kept the crowds away which is the way I like it! It didn't get crowded until 7:00 p.m. which is right when we decided to leave so it worked out perfect. We got there so early this morning that we were able to see a lot in the first 20 minutes we were there, before anyone even arrived. That was awesome.
We met up with some people during the day that wanted nothing to do but eat... Haha! I think they were actually a little mad at me because I was making them wait like an hour between foods. It cracks me up!! They kept buying me stuff too, so I got to try lots of yummy stuff that I normally can't afford. Awesome! I think they were happy when they finally ditched us so they could eat more. I was so stuffed though, I don't know how they kept going like that all day. We had grilled cheese sandwiches, funnel cake, loaded baked potatoes, fried vegetables, maple candies, cranberry chocolate chip cookies, cranberry juice, chocolate and strawberry milk, and cream puffs. I know they still wanted cheese curds and egg rolls so I'm sure they went to get those after they left us.
One last thing that I got was maple root beer. I had been wanting it all day and finally right at the end decided that I would have been disappointed if I didn't have one before we left. It was delicious!
At 5:00 p.m we watched the Percherons and Belgium horses driving carts. Lots of fun. I've decided that driving horses will be my next goal. I have a lot of bills that I have to take care of first but once they're paid up, I'm going to get myself a pony and a cart. Can't wait!

I'd love to learn to drive. I think Shivna would look adorable, pulling a sleigh in winter :)
I wish we could all get ponies with carts, then we'd have less pollution. Maybe a little smelly, but not as toxic.
I have never heard of maple root beer, but it sounds wonderful!
My neighbor has Gypsy horses with a big fancy carriage and works them around Christmas at a big park in the south of town. Another neighbor has a cart drawn by 2 little ponies. She used to drive them up and down our street before it was paved by the city (which NONE of us wanted since we had horses, grrr) It would be fun to do, but it is a lot of work.
