Wild Mushrooms: A Photo Essay

Wild mushrooms make such interesting photography subjects due to the variety of colors, shapes and textures.

I found and photographed the following beauties during my most recent hike in the north Georgia mountains.

 

Peeking out of the leaves and pine straw

 

Many were not in perfect condition

Tall and elegant

Hmm, interesting shape, no?

A colorful beauty newly erupted from the forest floor

A shroom colony

Almost hidden in the leaves

Some are shiny
