Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has been quite the trouper lately, pretending not be bored, while attending tons of tedious events at the London Games.
But, Kate's smile really seemed authentic Thursday, while watching the sport of women's boxing, which is debuting at this year's Olympics.
Kate gleefully cheered in the stands of the Excel centre, as British pugilist Nicola Adams crushed China's Ren Cancan, to earn a gold medal.
Hmm. Maybe, the Duchess was imagining herself as Adams, punching the lights out of either Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie, who have been making her life miserable lately. No, perish the thought. Kate Middleton's much too sweet a person for those types of violent fantasies.
Kate was obviously just displaying some patriotic pride, as fellow Brit Adams destroyed the three-time world champ Ren Cancan, 16-7.
But, isn't it amusing that Middleton was enthralled by such a decidedly unduchesslike competition as female boxing? It just seems incongruent with the stuffy image of the British royal family. What will Queen Elizabeth think?
