The latest search for Kortne Stouffer returned no evidence and proved to be a failure as far as finding the missing woman goes. This is disappointing information for the friends and family of the Palmyra "hippy girl," but it's also not very surprising. This case, so far, is shaping up to be a typical case of a missing woman who may have met foul play. The details behind her disappearance reek of criminal activity and police have been rather tight-lipped about the details surrounding it.
Kortne Stouffer was last seen arriving home from a night of partying at a local nightclub. It was nearly two weeks ago and she has not been heard from since, nor has she made any contact with anybody who knows her. She left behind her cellphone and dog -- which her family says is out of her character.
It's been speculated that she could have been followed home by someone who saw her at the nightclub, or she could have unwittingly trusted the wrong person. Her boyfriend, who doesn't live with her, has a criminal record and is on house arrest -- which is suspicious on its own, but her parents say they do not think he is involved.
Hopefully the police stay on top of this case and keep the updates coming, although their investigation has been quiet enough to allow this case to lose the media attention that could certainly benefit it.
