Ha, ha, May, that would be something! I think one of the criteria for this 100 list is that the books are well-written! So, that by itself would push 50 Shades out the door!

I'm so glad to see some of the current YA titles on the list. Some of these newer titles have gotten kids who never would read to do just that.

Good books transcend age, David. And, age is only a number! YA fiction has really crossed over in the age demographic. Some of my favorite reads the past couple of years are considered YA.

I've read some of these but I don't know how anyone likes the Giver

I never read any of The Giver books. I looked it up online and found out that it is one of the most challenged books of the '90s, challenged by parents that think it is controversial and shouldn't be on middle-school reading lists.

I just didn't like the book but hey I like a lot of controversial books because a lot of it is just b.s for example angels and demons by Dan Brown
