Welcome to Norma’s Café on this Monday August 6th. It is a beautiful 53 degrees here. Yesterday’s high was just 80 and I reveled at the nice change from the 90s. Windows were thrown open and Cagney and I enjoyed the fresh air. I got a lot done, even scrubbed floors. My daughter Tammy and her husband are coming later today for a visit so tomorrow and Wednesday I might not get a café posted. Look for it anyway as I will post one if I can.
I also went out yesterday and picked up all the sticks and little branches that the wind had blown out of the trees. Then I pulled a garbage bad full of weeds and crab grass, the only things that seem to grow in a drought. Today I will just do the vacuuming and dusting and run the dishwasher. With just me I only run it about every 3 days, but I don’t like to wash dishes by hand so I do use my dishwasher.
I spoke to Tracy on the phone last evening as I wanted to find out how Norma was after her move. Tracy said she was disoriented on Saturday but seemed better yesterday. She can have personal items now such as
Pictures to put on the wall (even if they are drawn by you or your children/grandchildren) as they make a nice change for something to look at. She can also have flowers, real or dried arrangements. Her birthday is August 11 so we want to shower her with birthday cards. We have been sending her cards to
Norma Mize; 202 Norma Lane; Cleveland TX 77328
Donald is home and recovering from his surgery. His son and daughter-in-law are staying with him for now.
I know he would enjoy cards too and they can be sent to the same address. Tracy sounds worn out and I can understand that with all she has to take care of. Please keep the prayers going for her as well as Norma and Donald.
I am walking at 10:30 this morning since it will be the last chance I get for a couple of days. This afternoon I want to get some blueberry muffins (from scratch) made and a coffee cake, so I will have breakfast for my kids. We have never been the eggs and bacon breakfast eaters. Which reminds me I also need to go to the grocery store for bread, milk and eggs. So much to do….so little time. Sigh!
The coffee is ready to drink and hot tea if you want to join me for a cup. There are plenty of sodas, lemonade, ice tea and ice water in the fridge. Come on in and sit a spell in my clean kitchen. I warn you though, if you spill on the floor I will make you clean it up. LOL What was your weekend like? Do you have plans for today? What can I get you to drink? Don’t forget a message for Norma.

it is also much cooler here today, which is so nice!!....the windows are open, and it is lovely to have fresh air, instead of a/c air, in the house!
have a great week!

On my walk with Rudy this morning I spotted a King Bolete. After verifying the identification, I sautéd it in a bit of butter--fabulous treat! It's been years since we've found one.
I feel for Tracy and the whole family, so much going on.
Enjoy your time w/ your son & dil and don't worry about posting!
