The London Olympics 2012 basketball schedule is set to pick up again on Monday, August 6th, as it will be Team USA vs. Argentina. The game will be live streaming online, in addition to televised coverage and arrives after a near shocking upset of the United States.
The Team USA basketball live stream game schedule reveals that this game is set to begin at 5:15PM EST on Monday evening. The United States has yet to lose a game in Pool A play, but nearly did against Lithuania just a day or so ago. Luckily, LeBron James worked the same sort of magic he did for the Miami Heat, as his 4th quarter heroics and scoring helped secure a win for the U.S. Nonetheless, that may have shaken up the team a bit, giving them a reality check ahead of one of their first tough opponents in the form of Argentina.
According to ESPN.com, praise was given to LeBron for leading the team to victory, by several teammates and his coach, Mike Krzyzewski:
He took the game over. For those people who say that he doesn't produce at the end of ballgames Â… for us, he's always produced at the end of ballgames.
There has been some question as to Coach K's strategy in terms of giving his players days off in between games this past week. One of them resulted in a huge rout the next day against Nigeria, setting multiple records for the team and Carmelo Anthony in terms of scoring and three-point shots. However, the other game following a day off was the close call win against Lithuania. Now they'll face an Argentine national team that includes several NBA stars, past and present.
Among them are Spurs guard Manu Ginobli and Luis Scola, who will be playing for the Phoenix Suns next season. In terms of Group A play, Argentina is tied with France for second place, as the United States has sole possession of first. However, should Argentina manage to steal a game, they'd take over the top spot. Argentina has only lost one game so far, and that was to France, who just so happens to have Ginobli's Spurs teammate, Tony Parker.
This next game could be a huge challenge for Team USA as they appeared to have some flaws in their previous game. Either Coach K will have them mentally prepared for a tough contest, or they'll be taking a loss ahead of the medal competition which will be coming up later this week.
