When I was a child I use to have a diary. It helped me get through some really hard and emotional times. I was able to write my feelings down with out worry of someone lashing out or me getting punished for my thoughts. The diary helped me focus and stay positive for what I wanted in the future. When I got married, once again I had a diary. Than I caught my ex husband reading it one day. I stopped writing in it and threw it away. Thinking back I knew my diary was the first place I started my writing, both personal thoughts and my poems. I have since, bought my daughter a diary and gave it to her to start her own writings.
So, the question of the day is : Have you ever had a diary? Online or not. Describe what your diary meant or means to you.

I also have a journal that I use sometimes, when I'm feeling something really silly or mean or frustrated that I don't want to share with an actual person. It does help to get it out!
as an adult, i have kept a journal off and on, but i usually just have a little notebook, mostly for jotting down phrases that come to mind, ideas for poems, etc.

I believe I started a diary when I was young, but never kept up with it. When I started college, we were required to keep a journal for English class. The instructor said he would read it or not, according to our preference, but it was an assignment that we had to write something every day. Since then, I've kept a journal off and on, mostly on, but then I get bored and stop for a while. As I get older and my memory suffers, it's handy to have the journal to remind me of what my life was and is like, and of the funny things that happen, and the dreams I have.
