Ryan Lochte finds himself in the unusual position of apologizing for his mother's loose lips, but her comments were never intended to cause such a stir. The new prince-apparent of the pool's mom, Ike, responded in a Today show interview that her son "goes out on one night stands," referring to his dedication to swimming and his training leaving little time for a relationship. Ever since the utterance, her son has been dog paddling in the media to defend her remarks.
"What she meant is I go out on dates," Lochte elaborates. "It's not the thing that everyone is talking about, because that's not me. I've never done that, and I've never been like that," he retorts. Now that some rest and relaxation can be penciled into his schedule, perhaps Ryan can be the gentleman to the maiden of his choosing. He deflected the controversy, saying mom was not used to speaking to the media. He is pleased with his performance and his medal count of 2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal. He also got the privilege of being part of friend Michael Phelps' page in Olympic history, being the most medaled athlete ever. Phelps asked his team for "the biggest lead you can give me" as he anchored his 4 x 200m freestyle relay team, and Lochte delivered the ultimate gift as friend, fellow Olympian, and teammate. Lochte has his sights set on the Rio games, and those may become his own mark in history. Meanwhile, Lochte isn't losing any of the charm that endears him to millions of females worldwide, declaring that he wants to give "my entire heart" when he's in a serious relationship, and with a small respite in the offing, there are bountiful takers to be considered someone "serious" for Ryan Lochte. "I love ladies," the swimmer admits with his superstar smile, minus Stars & Stripes grill!

In other words welcome to the gladiator with a tawdry history worthy of Lindsay Lohan's applause…
