It's so hot in Oklahoma that street lights are melting!

Street lights are melting in Oklahoma, roads are buckling, and people are dying. The temperature have been near 120 degrees. Yesterday, my car read 124 degrees. It cooled down to a balmy 119.

It is impossible to even swim as the water is too hot. I had left a water bottle in my car, and when I took a drink, it burned my mouth. I forgot the temperature inside the car when it closed is near 200 degrees, so the water was near boiling.

I can't imagine what would make anyone leave their home. My boss wrote me and told me to stay home.

I remember it getting so hot in Michigan the motorcycles the guys rode to work were all laying on their sides because their stand sank in he ashphalt. Was really a mess they had hard time getting them all upright after work.,

it been so hot when I went to use my credit card,, it melted my thumb print on to it,,
just looking at the news I saw you missed your state record by one degree, they say it only got to 112. I think anything after 110 is just to hot,,,

I don't know what the official reading is, but my car reads way higher than the news reports, but as you say, hot is just hot.

You definately notice a difference at any temperature over 100.

That's terrible. I heard about the high temps earlier when I was watching the Weather Channel.

It's really been a terrible summer, hasn't it? We've been averaging 99-106 every day for weeks but never hit as high as what you got. I am praying for rain and cooler temps!

Having grown up in Texas I can't understand why anyone would want to live in Oklahoma. Texas is hot enough. :-)

If that water in a plastic bottle was heated to 200 degrees it is not fit to drink even if you cool it down in the refrigerator. Throw it away. In that kind of heat you need thermos bottles to keep water cool. I lived in the desert and we know that the body needs moisture in that heat. Don't drive during the hottest part of the day as the rubber on your tires will burn off.
