Exploring the Bay!

Scott and I did some exploring on a road nearby back in June. I'll just let the photos speak for themselves!

This is a huge area for terrapin breeding. There were signs everywhere, warning cars to slow down to avoid hitting turtles.

 

I helped this one across after taking this shot.

Be Terrapin Aware!

Not entirely sure what I was taking a photo of there...

One lane bridge with lights at each end... there were a lot of those on that road!

I think that house out there might have been a Rutgers extension research center.

I just googled and confirmed-- this is the Rutgers Marine Field Station.

Coast of the bay

Atlantic City in the distance

Peaceful!

A rather jungly area

Plant life

To the beach! Of course, there are litterers everywhere...

Horseshoe crab in the bay!

 

Overall, it was a great day and we found some neat places!

Great great photo essay. it looks like a very tiny turtle in that one photo you weren't exactly sure of what you were taking. Your photos are beautiful. I enjoyed you exploration! Wonderful location!
