My four legged pet usually comes into our bedroom where we have a doggie bed for her to sleep in but a few minutes later she is scratching at our bedroom door wanting to be out to go back into the living room where she also has her own little doggie bed out there too. I didn't catch on to why she wanted to be out in the living room away from us. It wasn't until a few days ago when I wake up in the mornings and having to had to clean up trash that was tumble over and the trash inside of the trash cans were all over my living room. Every other morning this has been happening. So my husband thought he fix the problem at least he thought. He screwed the kitchen trash can to the the counter wall and pick up all the small trash cans and put them up high so she can not reach them.
She is smarter than we thought. This morning when I wake up and walked out to the kitchen to turn the coffee pot on at my surprise she tumbled the kitchen trash. Grrrr! I love her. Now she would get in my laundry basket also and some how, I don't how she does it but tear through my laundry and have piece of my clothing laying over by her bed. I would look at her in the eyes and in a stern voice and say, "Buttercup, "what mischief did you get into now? She would give me these innocent stare and crouch down on her all four legs. She knows she was into some kind of trouble. I go and pick up the trash and the laundry she pulled out of my laundry basket and she would go and hide under the coffee table and thinks I would not be able to find her.
Husband and I, we do laugh over the matter and say to each other out loudly, that Buttercup is smarter than she looks. Now we have to try to outsmart her to keep her out of my trash cans and my laundry. No wonder she is so tired in the mornings. She is up all night digging through the trash and my laundry. I finally caught onto her little mischievousness at night. We buy her the good name food brand dog food-Benfil and give her vitamins but I think when I give her baths the day before is when she gets retaliation to let me know in her own little voice that, "Ill show you. I don't like baths. She is character. I think we need to take some of the blame, sometimes we will share with her what we had for supper and now she thinks she can have it all the time. She is just down right spoil rotten. Believe we over spoiled her at times.
She is our little trash can digger and laundry night owl. We will have to figure how to keep her out of my garbage. Keep her out of my laundry basket. When she knows she done wrong, she tries to suck up to us and shows us in her way that she is sorry. "Oh, what I am going to do with her? She is our baby and she also has a past history where she was severely abused and half dead when we adopted her from the Rincon, Georgia Animal Shelter. I believe she still has those memories in her memory. She does have nightmares some nights. When I hear her having one of her nightmares I do wake up and comfort her and give her a few encourage words: You're okay Buttercup. You have to wonder for I do, what is her story and what is she thinking about. We only know what we were told from the volunteer that volunteered at the Rincon, Georgia Animal Shelter. Maybe that is why we understand each other, Buttercup and I and we can relate to each other and comfort one another.
I should of named her night owl...lol instead of Buttercup. Our little night owl mischievousness night prowler. My husband hopes that moving the kitchen trash can higher where she is not able to reach it to knock it over that it will help. As I said, she is a smart little character. We love her and she is our baby-girl. She also has to stay out of my laundry basket. OOOOOO! Any advise and suggestions to help other ways why Buttercup does this and ways we can do to keep her out of my trash and laundry basket is helpful and appreciated.
