Danny Ainge has done a good job this summer keeping the Boston Celtics an élite NBA team as the GM has signed and drafted a good mix of players this off-season.
While the team has no big holes remaining to fill on their roster, finding a quality backup for point guard Rajon Rondo is not a bad idea and the latest rumor from Bleacher Report suggests Ainge looks into adding undrafted free agent Scott Machado from Iona.
The young point guard averaged over 13 points and nearly ten assists last season in college and after a good showing at the recent Summer League games, has shown that his height is not an issue, which was the main reason the 22-year-old wasn't drafted in June.
While the league consists of big and very athletic players, every year someone shows that scouting reports and numbers don't always tell the story. Machado will get his shot with some NBA team this year and Boston would be wise to sign the youngster before he is off the market.
