As the latest massacre in a Colorado movie theater demonstrates, when the GUN-CONTROL LOBBY makes "laws" to disarm citizens, those citizens are easily victimized. Those victims at the BAT MAN movie were fired upon by a crazed gun-man for 20 minutes and none of them were able to fire back. Why? Because all of them had their RIGHT "to keep and bear arms" INFRINGED by the gun-controllers and the usurpers in government. Although the mainstream media - part of the GUN-CONTROL LOBBY - isn't mentioning this anymore: it took the police 20 minutes to show up to the movie theater. Thus the very government that's supposed to provide protection to its citizens disarmed its citizens by establishing and/or condoning "gun-free zones" in theaters, and then failed to protect them.. In Short: "gun-free zones" are unconstitutional - hence illegal - and those usurpers and rogue politicians that pass "gun control laws" are responsible for these 12 deaths.
History has demonstrated time and again that, to the degree citizens are unarmed, government suppression and tyranny are inevitable.
The Founders of the United States knew these lessons well. This is why the U.S. Constitution not only grants American citizens the "right to keep and bear arms" -- but the DUTY to be well-organized as state militias reporting to their respective governors.
The Second Amendment of the Constitution clearly states that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." But that is prefaced in the Second Amendment with "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the Security of a Free State". This means citizens not only have the RIGHT, but the DUTY to carry weapons - CONCEALED OR NOT - whenever and wherever they want. A "gun free zone" is thus a violation of the U.S. Constitution! The 2nd Amendment folks were no where to be found! What about all the killing and murders by police EVERY SINGLE DAY?? No 2nd amendment folks anywhere//all the legislation passed such as NDAA, Patriot Act, Homeland Insecurity,..our freedoms have ALREADY BEEN STRIPPED FROM US..and the guns didn't do a bit of good...

I think there are a zillion ways (give or take a few bajillion ; ) to avoid facing the possibility, seriously, that God exists. Once upon a time, I set those ways of avoiding "the question of God" aside. Once upon a time I asked a God I did not believe existed, but realized might nonetheless, to alleviate my doubt, if that was what that hypothetical Being wanted, for I knew I could not . . I knew the zillion ways would never end, and I would never know, even if God was quite real . . unless that Being gave me some help.
To my utter amazement He did. It took several weeks, I am rather skeptical by nature, and I can't do justice to the process here, but it seems to me that the critical things were my sincerity in wanting to know, really know, and my realization that if this God Being existed, I would be dealing with something vastly out of league, so to speak. Something I (nor Mr. Carlin ; ) had any way of capturing within the mind, within the thoughts and images available to me. The realization that this Being, if real, would have to be unspeakably intelligent, inconceivably powerful, unimaginably complex, precise, and orderly.
I "gave Him" that kind of respect, that kind of status, in my request and in my considerations of what unfolded afterward, even though He was just a hypothetical. For that Hypothetical, if real, I reasoned, would necessarily have to be Something I was in no position to judge, or second guess, or demand anything at all of.
If you want to know, I suggest you drop the preconceptions and "competitive" posture/attitude. Realize we are discussing Something (if real) that makes planets, and living creatures, as easily as we make sentences. Not a male figure in a white sheet and white beard, but a God, Someone necessarily our superior in every possible sense. Absent such a "concession", I don't think one can give Him much latitude in confirming His existence . . without leading one astray. Whatever preconceptions, which is to say limitations one has in mind, would naturally lead one to assume those thoughts and images were correct, upon receiving convincing confirmation from Him.
Am I making any sense? Do you catch my drift, so to speak?
To prove whose God is superior? Where'd that deep thought come from, Jack? ; ) Did you travel through time and space, and peer into the mind's of multitudes, and lo, there they were, doing nothing but thinkin' they would prove whose God was superior by killing people?
No chance that's dehumanizing fantasy, born of your own indoctrination and prejudice, eh? No chance that you just demonstrated how people could be led to hate and fear others, through falling for the silly idea that what appears in their mind's eye when they think about others, is the reality of all those people they image up in moment of time, right? No chance that's the illusion which leads to treating others as if they were less than fully human, less than the imaginer?

Or, you don't actually understand what the Book is saying happened, right? I mean, maybe you just accepted what popped into your head, like you accepted the images of all those people killing each other for no other reason than to "prove whose God is superior" . . because it allows you to justify your own beliefs, and self righteousness. Is it possible there's more to the Story than you are aware of? Could you have missed something?

It sounds like Arc Angel's questioning who is right when two or more say they are doing something "in God's name". It seems as if everyone today has God on their sides, telling them to do this or that. Perhaps I, too, am asking similar questions to A.A.

No one here did that, as far as I can see. This is what I (fool that I am) think I saw happen here;
A non-believer was enthusiastically agreeing with your post's basic thrust, and your comments, and was bringing in many additional points of information . . was told all of a sudden, that none of that really mattered, and he had nothing to offer or contribute to this ostensible attempt to awaken people to the peril our nation is in, because he does not pray to God.
At that point, he seemed to me to go into "defense mode", by trying to incriminate Christians, the Book, God, and so on.
And please realize. I consider you a dear sister, not a fool or meany. It was your "threat" to stop allowing discussion on your posts that spurned me to continue here. If you did, far fewer people would notice your articles, and I want more to notice, because you do a great job with these very . . thorny matters.
Even if you yourself don't comment, the articles are often so well done, and so timely and (to my mind) boldly addressing aspects that are critical for people to consider, that I urge you to allow comments. Trust in the trustworthy One, to provide protection and help, I advise, rather than just post them without commenting allowed.
