Chick-Fil-A shows divide in country over gay marriage.

First, the politicians need to butt out. If enough people disagree with the statements made, the company will lose a bunch of money. If enough people agree with the statements, the company will make a bunch of money.

I dont think folks have the right to tell me where and what I can eat.. I not happy with Same sex marriage,,(hate that other word), yet I support people rights to do what they want no matter what they believe in. so if folks want to get married let them, as for chick-fil a,, I cant see diving 45 miles for a resturant that is only open for 4 hours a day here to eat,, not my cup of tea

Liberals don't seem to notice that all Americans have thoughts and ideas and in America, you have a right to express them.
They see we believe that same sex is condemned by God. I can't believe that they are so arrogant, they think we should by pass God in order bow in submission to them.

I don't fight it. I've asked many times if we could have a contest and come up with a really cool name for their union.
Marriage is a religious name and has always meant that man and woman, although God separated Eve from Adam, are once again 'One' after the ceremony.

Although it's worded different in Scripture :):) It feels like a big loss to me and I really would like to help them find another name ... but the call is theirs.

When I made the statement you quoted, I was talking about the fact that people want to stop them from moving into town. Why should they care if they believe something different from them. It's a known difference that Christians truly believe God is responsibe for marriage, so why would they say, "we don't care, you need to set that belief aside or we won't let you come in." RIGHT ? :) Am I being unfair?

Nor do YOU have the right to rob me of the right to Marry 7 Chicks and a Mercedes-Benz...but then, only the demands of Leftists are important to you...

I support Chik-fil-a. The owner has every right to follow Biblical commands and to tell people that he does.

(I've heard that business has increased tremendously since this thing started. I'm not surprised, since conservatives do make up over 40% of the population.)

I appreciate your viewpoint, but don't agree with it. Boycotting is stupid; however, I plan on not buying my underwear at JCP. I think they will go on, but if they had anything I wanted for the right price, I would avoid them for there stance on gay marriage and Ellen Degenerate.

I support Chick-fil-a and all this fuss should have never happened. A person has a right to start his business on any principles he believes in. They do not turn anyone away. The simple fact is if you don't like their beliefs, which I do, than eat some place else!!

Chick-fil-A has always been a Christian business with biblical principles. If this offends people they should eat beef.

RF, I wouldn't have thought you would hold that difference against them. What's wrong with the fact that they put the Bible over what man says? They're ;not saying they hate gays. At least I hope not. Then I would jump on them ... or at least criticize them behind they're backs :)

But boycotting a company is infringing on the community's rights... By not allowing Chic Fe Le in there, this town is not going to reap the more than many good acts that this company does for the people of this town.. This company is one of the most giving to our community... They have been known to feed our firefighters , EMT's, Policeman and all the volunteers when there is a disaster here and even tragic wrecks on our Interstate...
Their good outweighs their bad.... I for one, do like their chicken sandwiches too; and I support this man for NOT being two faced and not caving in or changing his values... If more people(such as our own president) stood by their beliefs instead of trying to win votes, our country would be alot better off...
I do not believe in the same sex marriage... Is anyone going to boycott my thought process? Liberals harp about being silenced, deleted etc. on here saying, its not freedom of speech, BUT yet when this man speaks out right away, people want to silence him... Where is all the libs in defending this man and allowing him the freedom of speech without being mad out to be the bad guy...
Freedom of Speech dies along time ago.. if you are not politically correct, then right away one is a racist or a bigot...

I dont think you will see to many people defending this man or company as this is a thought process that many are challenged to the limit in that dept...Most are afraid to take his side as they lack a spine, then you have those who want to be on the winning side(which right now, its in favor of the gays)..these are the ones who voted for Obama because again, they wanted to be on the winning ticket, whether right or wrong, as long as they are hanging on the shirtails of what they think is a winner... Some people just cant think for themselves... Some people put party against whats right...

Intolerance is a two way street. Gays have every right to marry each other and the CEO of Chick-fil-a has a right to be offended and denounce such things. But we are all U.S. citizens living in a land with great ideals. We share the honor and duty of voting. We all suffer from bad government and are blessed by freedom. So we disagree and we go on as one nation and that's how it should be.

There seems to be a lack of understanding as it applies to how many fail to accept, or even believe that our faith has a foundation. I do not personally judge, ridicule, or speak against any of the gay community, but based on my faith; I will not compromise the foundation of my faith and dismiss portions of the foundation of my faith in order to accept that which goes against my faith. I will not find the gay lifestyle to be acceptable based on my faith and the guidelines of my faith, but it does not mean that I hate anyone, nor does it represent an inner quest to treat anyone differently than anyone else. Since I do not approve of the lifestyle, I will not support actions and behaviors that try to promote the lifestyle as to be accepted by me, or anyone else, and to suggest that my faith should be set aside for that acceptance. It will not happen.

Please read the following very carefully. With my faith, God, Himself allows for free will, so people are allowed to make their own choices. We do not have to agree with those choices, and we will not if they go against the very foundation of our faith. We are not to judge others, and to not agree with someone's lifestyle does not represent judgment or condemnation, but a stand for what is based on our faith, and we will not dismiss our faith to make room for what is not allowed, based on our faith. My faith is not negotiable, nor is there room for compromise on issues that stray from the foundation of my personal faith. People are allowed to live their lives based on their own choices and convictions, but they are not allowed to force others to accept those choices, nor should they believe it is their right to do so.

I am attacking no one...My point is simply that those of us with faith will not compromise on the foundation of our faith to make others feel better. The same is true as it applies to abortions. We may not stop the abortions, but we will speak against the issue until we take our last breaths.

I agree that our faith is personal, but when the law of the land demands we allow the death of the unborn, and have to call the union of all people marriage, then it affects our blessings. One nation under God is not one nation anymore.
