I am wanting to be closer to my oldest boy. But do not want to move back to Florida. Because of breathing issues. Currently, I live in Ohio.

I figured I would reach out to my Gather friends and see what possibles open up. I also figured asking my Gather friends would give me information and such about locations I may not find through an internet search.

So, the questions of the day is : If you had to do a major move between Ohio and Florida, where would it be and why? Is there anywhere between here and there that has reasonable housing and available jobs?

i am not sure i can help you with this at all.....however, i would like to suggest that you first talk to your doctor, let him/her know you are thinking about making a move, and then ask what can be done to assist you with the breathing problems there.....

it has been my experience that, if you clear up one big issue, the others seem to fall into place more easily.....

just a thought...

No, the air in Florida is different than where I am now. When I visit Florida, it makes it hard to breathe. So, I would prefer not to move to Florida again for the that reason alone. I use to lived in Florida, I do not wish to have to go back on the heavy medications I was on before. But thank you for the advice. I do appreciate it.

Why don't you ask your son to relcate closer to you. Why?? It seems that they are predicting that Florida will soon all be underwater.
My son just turned 21. He is assistant manger and doing well in Florida. He won't come visit me, he sure won't move out of Florida. He loves it there.

Yes, Florida is slowly going under water. While I was living in Florida. I caught a program on the TV. It was telling about a very old cemetery they were looking for and couldn't find. The people looking thought it had been robbed or just simply sunk in the ground. Both guesses were wrong. The graves were still in the same place. Just under water. The water had slowly been rising and noone noticed.

Since, than they have been steadily water the water increase around Florida. They now have predicted how much of Florida and what part will be under water when all the Glaciers melt.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time making it work.
I have only seen my son twice since 2009 when I moved back to Ohio. I was never away from him longer than being in the hospital giving birth to one of his siblings. Even thou he is grown it tears me apart to be so far away from him. I really enjoy when he calls out of the blue.

Depends on your job qualifications as far as a job goes. Housing here is wonderfully priced.
Ya know I do not what all qualifications my boyfriend does have. Since, he has been with me has been doing restaurant work and factory work. He has been talking about going back to school to further his schooling for business administration.

I don't know how to help you with this one. It is difficult to make arrangements to see your own family.
Yes, it is difficult. I have to save all year just to visit for two days and turn around to come back home. It hurts. Two days just isn't enough for me.

I know what you mean. Have you tried skping before? I know its not the same without actually being there.
My son don't have a computer. We keep in contact by phone when he calls.

My husband lost his job after 17 years in June. It is looking like we will have to move to find employment. I am a bit anxious and very scared to think of moving. I have never lived anywhere other than WV.

We have traveled from coast to coast and each state has it's perks and down-sides
Are you thinking of staying in WV or moving out of state?
I am sorry to hear he has lost his job after everything you have been through lately. Is his place closing, or just down sizing employees?

I live in Georgia now, and well....too darn many people here.
Florida has to many people....at least that is the state I have noticed myself to have to many people.

not much help here I rather stay in NE for it cost of living is abit lower then around there
Well, my son may be coming up to Ohio to live. As he wants to go back to school. So, hopefully the next move will be anywhere. Will see what is up with him come friday. Keep your fingers crossed.
