TGIF. I barely made it through yesterday....the heat was a killer, and I ended up outside for a couple of hours. I do know that I've sold 108 items so far at the consignment sale. It's not bad, but it's not great. The problem is the items that have sold are mainly the $1 and $2 things.....not the higher priced stuff. Oh well.
Once every four years, the world's top athletes meet, to compete in the Summer Olympics, which begins tonight. The Olympic games in London, England will be the XXX Olympiad. I'll be watching the opening ceremonies.
So, what are we celebrating....
1). Take Your Pants For A Walk Day: This holiday is a great day to get some exercise. This special day is well noted on the internet for Ecard and calendar websites. So, I'm sure your planning to celebrate this day in a big, big way. LOL Its an easy day to celebrate, as you simply go for a walk. Unless you are wearing a dress or a skirt, you probably are wearing pants. So, by definition, as you walk, they come along. And no, I don't know who came up with this one.
2). Barbie-in-a-Blender Day: Yes, this is an odd one. From Freeculture.org : We ask you to join us in exercising your First Amendment rights and celebrating a legal victory for artistic freedom… by taking pictures of Barbie in a blender and sending them to us! The project was inspired by a legal case involving a lawsuit filed by Mattel, maker of Barbie dolls, against Utah-based artist Tom Forsythe. In 1999 Forsythe created a series of photographs, titled “Food Chain Barbie,†portraying nude Barbies in suggestive poses among kitchen appliances. Mattel filed a lawsuit, claiming copyright infringement and demanding that Forsythe stop selling prints. After five years, the case was finally settled on June 30th, 2004: a federal judge ruled that Mattel pay Forsythe 1.8 million in legal fees and court costs, calling Mattel’s suit “frivolous†and “unreasonable.†Personally, I understand where Mattel is coming from. Barbies are for little girls to play with, not for what Forsythe did....just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.
3). National Talk in an Elevator Day: That's right. It's National Talk in Elevator day, so if you see someone in the elevator today, then you must talk to them.
4). Walk on Stilts Day: This holiday encourages you to buy a set of stilts and learn how to use them. That does sound like fun, but I"d probably fall and break something.

5). Take Your Houseplant for a Walk Day: There really is a genuine recognized day, where anyone can simply take their beloved houseplant for a walk around the neighboring park, gardens, or just around town. I guess you take you plant along with your pants...LOL. If you decide to do this, make sure you have someone take a photo of you.
Now, if you see any other holidays, just post below.....and I'm sorry, I thought I posted this earlier.
