Is Ian Somerhalder A 'Fifty Shades of Grey'...

Is Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries fame a strong consideration for the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey? Can you see Ian in the role of Christian Grey? Who would play his Anastasia Steele? What about girlfriend and co-star Nina Dobrev?

According to a report from Hollywood Life, recent rumors have put Ian in the list of contenders for the role of Christian Grey. And while there's been little to no mention of Nina Dobrev joining him, another of his Vampire Diaries co-stars claims he's a shoe-in, at least in her mind.

Kat Graham

plays Bonnie on The Vampire Diaries, and she dished recently on the notion of Ian starring in Fifty Shades of Grey.

"Put him in it! Listen to the fans! Ian is so great, Ian can do everything... Ian is so incredibly talented that he could literally do anything, and I hope that with our show schedule that is so crazy that he could work around that. But I think he is better than everything, they would be lucky to have him!" Kat said.

Do you think Nina Dobrev would be quite as enthusiastic about Ian Somerhalder playing this role and participating in all kind of erotica with a woman other than herself?

He does nothing for me. I am hooked on Jessie Pavelka to play Christian. Once i saw him, there was no one else!

Ian somerhaler is perfect for the christian grey part he's dark and mysterious and lush all rolled into one there are a lot of people who could play this part but its Ian for me all the way !!

The man described in 50 Shades is NOT "dark." I know lots of people have favorite actors they love but if they look nothing like the character described (Ian is pretty much the exact opposite, as is Cavill), it would just be wrong. Also, Somerhalder is one of the worst actors I've ever seen. All those homoerotic photos of him all over the web don't help, either. Check out Jessie Pavelka. HE is... just as the man in the book is described.

How is Ian perfect for Christian? Ian is too short and too old. He doesn't even have copper hair. Jessie Pavelka would make a better Christian Grey than Ian any day.

Yep. He just IS Christian Grey, as repeatedly described in the books. Nobody else is. The second I saw his face (and body!) I said "Now THAT is a MAN(!) who would make me unable to move if he were coming towards ME in a hotel bar." Just like Christian Grey, there's NOBODY else quite like him.

Ian Somerhalder is Christian Grey in the minds of so many. Acting talent, the looks, those unique incredibly intense eyes that are Christian's eyes. Ian definitely has that thing that makes women go weak in the knees as CG is described. He's very special, and the minute I saw him I was hooked. THIS IS THE GUY!

To the person here who is posting about this Jessie Pavelka person, he is apparently a fitness instructor not an actor. I'm sure they're looking to hire a fitness instructor and not an actor for a role and movie of this magnitude. Please get real.

Ian Somerhalder is Christian Grey ONLY in the minds of Vampire Diaries fans. What about the rest of the 50 Shades fans? Ian doesn't look anything like Christian Grey. He's too short. His face has a lot of wrinkles cuz he's 34, not 27. He doesn't even have copper hair. Where do people even make the connection?

Ian Somerhalder is the perfect choice for Christian Grey. He's a very talented actor. He looks exactly like he's described in the book I think. Plus he has that sexy intense stare thing going on that Christian does. I can't imagine anyone better suited to the part, though if he doesn't get it Henry Cavill would be a good choice. Not Channing Tatum or Ryan Gosling please!!
