In the name of the founding fathers the Gun/Ammo industry donates millions to the NRA in order to sell the big lie of the need of semi automatic murder weapons to gullible & immature americans because 200 year ago the 2nd amendment was written for citizens who had to protect & defense their homes and families from the terrors of the wild frontier. The Gun/Ammo industry make billions in profit from the weapons that we have no need for and that kill thousands every year.

You admit that the arms industry is making huge profits so what are you complaining about? There have to be some shootings to make people want more guns. :-(

I love the world weary cynicism of this remark.
It's odd (to me) that the arms manufacturers don't at least protect U.S. citizens by only selling either to the army or abroad some of the weapons that street thugs can get hold of and that (excuse the pun) some armies would kill to have. I doubt the second amendment could have forseen the 'progress' in weaponry and wanted some of it in the hands of its citizens. Surely it's time for the amendment to be amended if not done away with altogether?

What I don't understand, David, is why each weapon produced is not test fired with the slug and the breach print on the cartridge saved so that law enforcement can match any bullet used to shoot a victim could be matched to the barrel of the gun that fired it and any shell casing could be matched to the firing pin and breech lock mechanism. That way, there would be a much better trail to the owner of the gun. The lack of such procedures by the gun manufacturers makes me think they don't care what their guns are used for.
