Good Morning on the day after…..My birthday that is. I want to thank everyone for their birthday wishes. It was really wonderful to read them all. I couldn’t respond to every one because my son-in-law was backing up my files onto a thumb drive to make them easier to transfer to a new computer. My computer is over 8 years old and getting very slow so it took 5 hours to do the backup. It was a busy day anyway. I went to Olive Garden for lunch with my daughter and hubby and then he worked on my computer. I left them here at my place while I went to walk at the mall with my GF. With temps of 104 outside, the mall was packed. When I came home the back-up was still in progress and I tried to rest a bit. My friend Margaret wanted to take me out to eat last night so we sent to El Cactus and had really good Mexican food and a perfect margarita. I had phone calls from all 5 of my children, even the one who was here. Last night about 9:30 my daughter called from Oklahoma and was talkative. I was so tired by then all I could think of was going to bed, but we talked until about 10:15. She and her husband have purchased a new computer for me and she was setting it up. They are coming up later in August to bring it to me. I’m sure all the kids have been talking about this and will go in on it with her. They do that on larger gifts for me and I so appreciate it. I got flowers from a special person in my life.
When I finally fell into bed I was so sleepy I almost forgot to put in my eye drops for the glaucoma. A good night of sleep has me feeling good this morning. I told Connie C. who highlighted yesterday’s café that it was such a good day for me that maybe I should have birthdays more often….NAH!
It all began with the phone call from Tracy and getting to talk to Norma. And yesterday Norma sent me a special hug via Tracy’s café post. I have such good friends here on Gather. Norma knows and appreciates all your messages of hope and cards. She is glad her Gather friends haven’t forgotten her. But as I told her, that’s not going to happen.
Today is going to be another hot one but not as bad as yesterday. I’m going to be low key and take it easy.
I seem to have twice as many clothes to wash this hot weather because I sweat right through them. Can’t even put them in the hamper when I take them off. I have to hang them up to dry. I don’t imagine I’m them only one in that predicament.
Come on in and sit a spell. The coffee is fresh and hot. I am having hot tea and would love someone to drink tea with. The fridge is full of sodas, juice, ice tea, lemonade and ice water. If you have any goodies to share they are always welcome. We never close here and everyone is welcome. Tell us what you are planning today. Don’t forget to leave a message for Norma and family.
What can I get you to drink?

The rest of the time I was a passenger.
Sounds like you have some very thoughtful children and friends to celebrate your special day with!
Happy Birthday from Daytona Beach!
