I honestly don't know what is happening out there, but clearly too many people have too many very high power guns. And it just seems we are still reeling from the first mass shooting when out of the blue, another nut heavily armed grabs the headlines.
This time it is in Maine, but it could of as easily have been anywhere. The story begins with a speeding car. State police give pursuit, and finally pull the car over. What they discover would leave a chilling effect on everyone. The car was packed with several loaded guns and ammunition, including a AK 47 assault rifle. But even more disturbing was all the clippings he had in the car of the recent of the recent shootings at the batman movie.
But it gets worse - upon questioning, the many reveals that he had actually gone to see a showing of that same batman movie, and had taken the loaded AK 47 assault rifle into the movie - concealed in a large back pack.
At the time state police pulled him over, he told police he was on his way to Derry, NH to kill his boss.
A search of the man's apartment revealed he had other loaded guns there as well, including a banned fully automatic russian assault rifle and 8,--- to 10,000 rounds of ammunition.
Clearly the thought of doing a copy cat shooting must of been on his mind when he went to the movies with the AK 47 assault rifle, and police have said now they have to try and figure out just what he planned to do with all those weapons.
This was a real close call, too close, and you have to wonder just how many other nuts are out there thinking maybe it's their turn to grab the spotlight. The worst part is my youngest son who is 16 went to see this movie the other day and asked me just before leaving the house, "What do I do if something like that shooting happens here?" It's a kind of question a kid shouldn't have to be asking.

I had thought there were laws to prevent people with mental illness from stock piling guns like this, hopefully after this they will take his play toys away from him
