This week's genre: TERROR!
Only a very specific kind of terror. This evening I tried to fix a minor problem with Google Chrome ("your profile could not be opened correctly") and ended up mysteriously deleting my C:\Users folder (without ever even having the delete option) and for awhile everything was very strange and weird.
SO... this week, write up to 100 words about what you would do if your computer/laptop were suddenly converted to a lifeless hunk of plastic and metal. (Burning smell optional.)
Also optional, these words: despair, gloom, hermit, Twix, or mollycoddle.
=======================
Your story may be serious or lighthearted or as silly as you like so long as it is 100 or fewer words.
Post your stories to Genre Shorties.

It was a gloomy November day, the beginning of the end. I turned my computer on, a protocol I had begun the day before started searching my documents for bugs. I had a Twix bar with me and was munching away when the electricity went out for seconds. Imagine my despair when my computer wouldn’t open again. I took the computer to my grandson who was knowledgeable in these things and tried to fix the problem. He said to me, “Grammy, I’m not going to mollycoddle you about this, your hard drive is wiped, and it needs to be rebooted.”

I say this to myself about once a day.
