Understanding The Debt Crisis, But Simplified

I don't know about you, but when all these billions and trillions are being tossed around it is hard to grasp how bad our national debt is. This makes it simple.

What debt crisis? The investors of the world seem to think that loaning us money is about the safest investment there is. Have you looked at the interest rates we are paying for long term treasuries? Have you seen that the interest rate on a five year bond is less than one percent per year? If we can borrow on those terms there is no crisis.

We do have a stupidity crisis, though. We reduced taxes and then wondered why the debt went up. Talk about dumb.
