Steven Tyler is leaving American Idol. The rocker just announced that he was done with the show after spending just two seasons on the judges panel. His announcement was somewhat expected, but his timing was certainly interesting. Jennifer Lopez has been in the news today in regard to h
er future on Idol. It turns out she wasn't the only one thinking of leaving.
"After some long... hard... thoughts... I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress 'American Idol' before she boils my rabbit. I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I'm back—but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I've got two fists in the air and I'm kicking the door open with my band," Tyler said in a statement (via Gossip Cop).
Steven Tyler and "American Idol" worked well together, and he helped bring some life back on to the show. However, he is a musician, and no one can blame him for wanting to focus on his music career. JLo is going through similar feelings, and if she follows in Tyler's footsteps, next season is going to be quite different.
So far, Adam Lambert's name has been thrown around as Tyler's possible replacement. But is Adam a big enough star? Who would you like to see on the judges panel?
