The latest Ryan Dempster trade rumors have the pitcher getting traded from the Chicago Cubs to the Los Angeles Dodgers. It's a trade that could net the Dodgers a difference-maker on the mound as the second half of the MLB season begins.
According to CBS Sports, Dempster is one of the hottest pitchers in baseball, having thrown 27 straight scoreless innings for the Cubs. That could bring interest from other teams as well, especially as the pennant race really gets started in the American League East.

In 13 starts this season, Dempster is 4-3 with a 1.99 ERA. He has 70 strikeouts over 86 innings, posting some of the best numbers of his career. A brief stint on the disabled list has also allowed him to rest a bit this season, possibly providing Dempster with added energy should he get traded.
After spending the better part of nine seasons with the Cubs, it would be very interesting to see Dempster in a new uniform. Heading to the Dodgers would give him a great shot at returning to the postseason, especially if he can become one of the reasons that they hold off the San Francisco Giants in the standings.
Do you think that Ryan Dempster is the answer for the Los Angeles Dodgers? Is he the player that would win the National League West for the team or do they need to focus more on improving their offense?
