Yesterday was my brother's birthday. He turned 55 years old.
Roy and I are 2 years apart and my birthday comes 20 days after his.
Can't recall if we ever shared birthday parties, but, my guess is that we, probably, did.
Roy has always been a tall guy. Standing at well over 6 feet, you can imagine how funny it must have looked when I got after him for something. My mom says that Roy would be standing in front of me, looking down, of course, LOL, and I'd be laying into him about something and all he could muster was a "Yes, Janie." Mom says he was scared of me, at the time.
On another occasion, we went to the same high school. I was already dating George. Some of my friends didn't know that Roy was my brother because his complexion is so light and he has hazel eyes.
One day, Roy saw me in the hallway of the school and offered to walk me to my next class. My friends saw me and Roy and jumped to the wrong conclusions. They were dying to ask me who the guy was and threatening to tell George! I told them, "Go ahead and tell George, the guy is my brother." They had a very difficult time believing that!
I don't get to see my brother, very often, because he's so busy with his doctor job, but, I love him, nonetheless.

When my late fathers late parents were dating his mother saw my Grandfather go past with another girl in the side car of his motorcycle. (He never owned a car and gave up the motorcycle when he felt there were too many cars on the roads) She was furious... and she let him know too. He meekly explained it was his sister in the side car. :) This probably was in 1920 or 1921. They had 6 children but never owned a car. My late Grandfather was a brakeman for the Erie Lackawana railroad for over 50 years... and he loved it. He took a bus to get to work. If someone in the family didn't bring him over, we would go pick him up.
Yes, people have a tendency to jump to the wrong conclusions.
Thanks, RedBird!
Thanks, Mary.
