Justin Bieber boasted about working with a lot of big names on his Believe album, but only a couple actually made the cut. So, where is the much-hyped Taylor Swift collaboration that Selena Gomez and Justin talked about? Did Justin dump Taylor? What about Adam Levine and Kanye West? They also spent some time in the studio with the Biebs, but their work was also cut from the final track list.
Scooter Braun explains what happened with the Taylor Swift song, but it will not make fans happy. According to Justin's manager, "It just didn't make sense at this time." He tries to soothe the issue and reveals, "There's another record they want to work on." Sure, there is. At the time, it sounded like Justin was getting carried away with collaborations.
Seriously, if every song on the album is a collaboration, it really cannot be called a solo album. Although it is better for Justin's career, it is disappointing to think of all those tracks sitting in a closet somewhere.
Scooter offers the same excuse for the highly anticipated Kanye West and Justin Bieber collaboration. It didn't make sense and so on. Kanye may be a little too controversial for Justin's image, right now. In another year or two, the 18-year-old will have put some distance between his pre-adult self and the image he is creating now.
As far as Adam Levine's work, apparently, it never happened. Those little videos of Adam and Justin in the studio were about as far as the two got. Scooter explains, "We could just never get the studio time in together." For now, the world will have to just imagine what those collaborations would have sounded like.
