Anne Hathaway recently responded to the rumor that she is being courted to play Anastasia Steele in the film production of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey. Although it seems like virtually every Hollywood actor and actress of the appropriate age has been the object of speculation for the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia, Hathaway isn't sure if the female lead is right for her.
As of yet, Hathaway also revealed she isn't in any negotiations with Fifty Shades of Grey producers. "No one has talked to me about it yet," she told an Australian radio show. That doesn't mean that the honchos in charge of casting aren't eyeing her for the role, however.
Unlike other celebrities that have publicly revealed a desire to star in the movie, Anne Hathaway rode the fence. "It's funny," she said. "I haven't read the book so I couldn't tell you in any educated away about whether I could play it or not." Surely she knows something of the storyline by way of reputation and could guess if she would be interested or not.
