On Keeping Up with the Kardashians for the second time this week, the reality show clan continue with their typical hijinks. While Kim Kardashian hasn't been a big part of the small screen picture so far this season, she makes her presence known (and shown) after Sunday's ordeal where Khloe was on show and in the spotlight after her return from Dallas (see recap here)
On Monday, the whole Kardashian Jenner family end up in New York, eager for the opening of Scott Disick's new restaurant. All, that is, except Khloe and Lamar who want to stay put because they have just relocated back to their home and need to settle in.
But before Kim and Kourtney leave for the Big Apple with Mason, Kimmy is trying hard to pull at Khloe's heart-strings so she changes her mind. "I just like want my sister back," says Kim, who is bereft because her sibling is not even returning her phone calls.
Meanwhile, in NYC, Rob and Scott are making sure everything is in order for the big reveal of his Manhattan eatery. He is bound and determined to make Kourtney proud of his accomplishments. Scott says, "She's had a lot of doubts already. The last thing I want to do is have her see the place without it being completely done and ready to go."
As for Rob, he keeps in touch with his sisters, and when he does he talks about how Kanye West has a new song that refers to how he fell in love with Kim even though she was in love with Kris Humphries (that was a while ago!). As for Kim and Kanye, well they're "just friends" according to the woman who is known to go from one relationship to another, lickety split.
Later, Khloe finally gets the drift of what her sisters are trying to do to get her involved with the family again and so she asks Lamar if he will go to Scott's restaurant opening. No problem. This dude is game in all ways, and happy to support Scott and be with the rest of his wife's kin.
Back with Kourtney and Kim, these two have decided to take some time to enjoy each other and so they go out and jump in a new car that belongs to Kanye, much to Kourt's dismay.
Afterward, the three girls are reunited and Kim gets on Khloe's case because she missed Christmas and other big events with the rest of the Kardashians (and Jenners too). To shut her up, Khloe tells Kim that Lamar has decided they will, in fact, go to New York. Kourtney lets Scott know Khloe and Lamar are on board for his big day and he comes back with the fact that so many people are going to be there. He's stressed.
In New York at lunch with the entire family except Scott, Kim abruptly bails to go see Kayne. Rob says Disick is short on time so he can't be there with them which annoys everyone. As for the Kimye situation, Kim wants to be on the down low with Kanye, and just plays up her long-term friendship with him. She says that the two have a lot in common, like "mutual love and respect." They also both like fast cars.
That evening, Scott and Rob go out and relive some of their past when they were young and reckless since both are stressed out. The two stay out until the next morning. Needless to say, Kourtney is not happy about this, and Kim wants to know whether or not her sister wants to call it quits with Scott. Kourtney says, "I always do. I don't know if it's hormonal or if I just hate him."
Kris Jenner tells her daughter she should have had enough of him and that she should get rid of the guy. But Khloe thinks this is not something a mother should say, and even tells Mrs. Jenner that she often makes matter worse with her words. She tells their mom, "Kourtney needs to deal with things as she needs to deal with them. Leave her alone."
Scott finally shows up for Kourtney and Mason but he is not in good shape so they get in a squabble that has Disick leaving--again. It is beginning to look as if Scott's restaurant will never open and Scott will never change.
After all that deep stuff, Kim decides to give her siblings some monikers that describe what they are really like. Together, the girls come up with saying Kendall is the prettiest model-wise, Kylie is the hottest, Kourtney is the smartest, Khloe is the funniest, and Kim is the sweetest.
A dinner with Kris, Khloe and Kim is an opportunity for mom to ask for "love..happiness and no more drama." Sure, that'll work--not. This is especially evident when she brings up Kanye and his relationship with Kim, which is unclear at this point although he will be at Scott's restaurant opening.
After more Keeping up with the Kardashians goings-on, restaurant opening night is finally on. Kim and Kourtney are hurrying to get ready when Kanye comes by to go with them. After that, it's a smooth operation, as Scott Disick would call his bistro's debut. Everyone is duly impressed and all eyes are on Kayne as he sits at the official Kardashian table. Most importantly, Kourtney is proud of her man. She even gives him a promise ring although they are definitely not engaged.
And so, all's well that end's well in New York for the Keeping Up for the Kardashians tribe but things may not stay that way for long. So, tune in next week when the reality show family is off to conquer London. Gulp.
