True Blood season 5 continues next week with episode 6, "Hopeless." Russell's officially back on the show, and that means he's going to be going after some blood.
Season 5 Episode 6 "Hopeless" Promo
"The aftermath at the asylum leaves Sookie with an eerie sense of foreboding. At Fangtasia, Pam breaks up a vamp-girl fight, praising Tara for her tenacity. Lafayette visits Ruby Jean, who also received a disturbing message from Jesus. Fearing for his family's safety, Terry blames his curse for his troubles with Arlene. Alcide challenges J.D.; Sam offers to help Andy investigate the recent shootings; Roman lays out his plans to take out Russell."
At the end of the last episode, "Let's Boot and Rally," it certainly sounded like Alcide may have wolfed out with that growl and disappearing from the shot, but it turns out that's not what happened. As the True Blood season 5 episode 6 promo for "Hopeless" (below) shows, he's being dragged off somewhere. Russell may have been lying there at the end of the last episode, but he still managed to get the upper hand. That includes facing off with Sookie and saying, "You're just what the doctor ordered" before going to bite her. Will Russell get some of her blood, or will she use her power on him to stop him? Will someone else have to come to her aid? Oh, it's going to get very interesting with Russell back.
Meanwhile, that fight between Tara and Jessica will move from the bathroom out to the bar, and it sounds like Tara wins since Pam tells her she made her proud (of course this is in Pam's own way). Speaking of Jessica, Hoyt tells her, "You still care about me." What's going to happen there? Jessica does obviously still care about him in some way, but how? What's coming up for them?
The supernatural around Bon Temps still have to worry about those guys going around killing them, and it looks like they may take another victim, as Hoyt's left covered in blood before it looks like they bring him into their van. Uh-oh, is there going to be another death on the show in this episode?
Then there's what's going on with Terry. He tells Patrick there's no escape from the ifrit, then later on, he tells Arlene she'll die if he stays with her. Is this going to lead to the end of their relationship? If so, could that be what ends up saving her for now? Will there be hope for them when the ifrit is taken care of?
Also in this episode is a conversation between Eric and Nora. Nora tells him, "It's finally happening after all this time," then is shown saying "Thank you, Lilith." Uh-oh, this is sounding worse and worse. What will Eric discover about her? Finally, there's going to be more going on with Lafayette. Will he get any answers from Ruby Jean? What else is coming up with the fairies?
What do you think of the True Blood season 5 episode 6 preview of "Hopeless"?
