Salman Khan's never been the most mature person, so when stories of him mocking Shahrukh Khan at a press conference started circulating over the weekend, no one was really surprised.
Salman was a guest of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and was there to offer his opinion on a variety of unimportant topics, including NRIs and Hollywood (whose stars he believes he's giving a break to by not competing against them for roles). While Sallu's comments were mostly tongue-in-cheek (or let's hope they were at any rate), he reserved a bit of barb for his old foe Shahrukh.
Salman and Shahrukh have, of course, not been on the best of terms over the last few years, owing to bad behavior on both their parts. But while Shahrukh Khan mostly keeps his opinions on Salman to himself (even making a conciliatory gesture to Sallu at a recent awards function), Salman can't help but be an idiot over it time and time again. That includes his introduction at the Chamber of Commerce event, where he declared "I mean, my name is actually Khan and I actually am not a terrorist. I am an actor."
The lines are from Shahrukh's film I Am Khan, about an autistic man who sets out to meet President Obama in order to announce that he is not a terrorist. Why Salman felt the need to drag Shahrukh into the conversation by speaking his famous film lines isn't quite clear. Unless, like usual, Salman was just being a jerk.
Salman's behavior has been bordering on the ridiculous for the last few months—he allegedly attacked Katrina Kaif (both verbally abusing her and hitting her with a stick) when he decided he didn't like one of her costumes during a film shoot. Maybe it's time Salman saw someone about his bad attitude—anger management would do him a world of good.
