~Flight~

The is a certain joy

a bravery in the ascent

dancing with the clouds

on fields of cornflower blue

while dreaming of moss dripping

kisses in the still of the night

cicadas' electric buzz buzzing

the joy awaiting me

once I descend from the sky

I can feel home beckoning me

Up, up and away. From where you were to where you're going. Many elements involved: leaving, the trip, anticipation, destination. All nicely alluded to in this short poem. Nice.

The trip to Europe is long, exhausting and a bit fretful - I felt it. But a quick hop up and back down I still enjoy.

When I'm in Oz, I'm totally there. Really don't miss Mass hardly at all. And when I am in Mass, I get totally involved here. I just miss Mag....but soon, he'll be here. We begin and end each day on skype...not the same as being in each other's presence, but better then nothing.

Hello Michelle! I'm back from Germany now...I've missed your poetry, and your 'Flight' is just lovely, I so relate to your sentiments!
I love flying, especially to meet up with my mum and brothers. I don't miss Hamburg as much as I used to, and I'm always so happy to touch ground in OZ again. I don't mind the 22 hours of flying as long as I arrive safely either destination! I had a wonderful time, and the pain in my back has now completely disappeared!
