Niall Horan's use of a very dirty word at an airport might upset some of his fans, and surely Niall's celeb crush Demi Lovato won't be impressed with the One Direction singer calling a group of girls the worst possible thing you could call them.
Niall was leaving the airport in Dublin when he was
approached by a rather obnoxious group of fans. Niall must have recognized the girls, because he asked them, "Remember last time I walked out here, do ya? Remember last time I walked out here? You shower of c***s."
Luckily Niall kind of censors himself at the last-minute by muttering the c-word so that it's hard to tell if that's what he's actually saying. The girls who posted the video of the incident on YouTube claim that Niall Horan's words were just harmless banter and that "shower of c***s" is just as Irish expression meant to refer to "a group of annoying people." A quick check of Urban Dictionary confirms that people really do use the expression in this way.
So perhaps the C-word simply isn't as offensive in Ireland as it is in America - the girls in the video seem to have no problem with the way Niall speaks to them. He even grants their request to tell their friend Chelsea happy birthday while giving them a thumbs up. At least he sort of grants their wish - at the last-minute he changes his birthday greeting to, "Happy birthday, Chelsea... Football Club."
While the girls claim Niall Horan wasn't being rude to them, he does sound a bit testy. Perhaps he'd had a bad experience with them before, or maybe he was just in a really bad mood - Justin Bieber recently got a little testy with fans while he was waiting for Selena Gomez at an airport. All the traveling and interviews that pop stars have to do probably does make them pretty cranky sometimes, but it's still no excuse to use the C-word.
Below the YouTube video one of the girls says that Niall spent lots of time with them and was in the best mood, claiming that "shower of c***s" was just an in-joke between Niall and his Irish fans. It certainly wouldn't be the first time he's used a questionable term to refer to his fans - he once called them "mofos" (short for "motherf***ers") on Twitter.
