Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is a tennis fan and a player herself. So she threw herself into the excitement of the day at Wimbledon yesterday as she watched Britain's Andy Murry in his quarter-final match with the Spanish tennis star David Ferrer. There were ups and downs, and Duchess Catherine's face reflected the agony and ecstasy of watching, reports Daily Mail. Pictures show her twisting her cheeks and c
hewing on her lip in the scarier moments.
Kate and Prince William sat in the front row of the Royal box. It's a prime viewing spot, and Duchess Catherine made the most of the ultimate fan experience. She looked stunning, as always, in a white sailor dress by Alexander McQueen, recycled from last year's trip to Canada. She teamed it with navy blue heels and a Jaegar clutch purse.
Then, before the quarterfinal match was even over, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were whisked away, presumably to catch transpo to Scotland, where Prince William—with Kate Middleton in attendance—will be installed as a Knight of the Thistle. This is Scotland's highest honor, and the grandparents—make that Queen Elizabeth and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, and Princess Anne, the Princess Royal. These ceremonies outrank tennis matches, and are important to a whole different set of watchers.
Anyway, Andy Murray won his match, and thus advances to the semi-finals. No doubt Kate Middleton was among the first to hear the news.
